As our limited series continues, we wanted to give you our take on a ‘Modern HBAR’. While this barrel isn’t exactly heavy in weight, only a few ounces more than our Bloodline 14.5″ GVT barrel, the ‘Husky’ profile helps defeat the heat and reduce barrel whip. This barrel is phosphate coated with a chrome lined chamber and bore. Button rifled for that Rosco accuracy!
- This barrel serves as an HBAR for restrictive states.

I just got back from my first trip to the range after installing this barrel in my latest rifle. Fit and finish of the barrel is awesome, the phosphate looks really good, it’s not the cheap shiner phosphate you’ll see on lower quality barrels and BCG’s. When inspecting the bore with a bore scope I found the chrome lining to be extremely smooth and consistent all the way down and there was no visible burrs left over from drilling the gas port.
Initial accuracy at the range was underwhelming but after about 75 round everything settled down and it now shoots 1 whole groups at 50 yards. Accuracy with this barrel is on par with other barrels I own that were substantially more expensive. Gassing was perfect with an A5 H2 buffer and a green springco spring.
Overall I’m extremely pleased with the performance of this barrel; if they ever make another run, I’ll definitely pick up another.
