The K9 16″ features an intermediate length gas system with an optimized gas port to run reliably suppressed and/or unsuppressed. The K9 continuous taper is the most effective profile to dissipate heat from hard use. With weight shifted to the back of the barrel, modern attachments on the front of the rifle create a perfectly balanced and better handling rifle. Updated target crown carried over from the Purebred series. Features improved harmonics, fit and finish.
- This barrel serves as an HBAR for restrictive states.

I started with the purebred line and they became my go to barrel. Then I decided to give the k9 12.5 then 11.5 with the patrol length gas and loved them. Well balanced soft shooting suppressed or unsuppressed. So when I seen a 16’’ k9 with an intermediate gas system. I had to build out a new upper. When I got the barrel at first impression I thought it was heavy. After getting it together, it was well balanced and shot soft & flat. I don’t have a lot of rounds thru it as of now. But I can say it’s my favorite to shoot out of my 16’’, 13.7’’ or 14.5’’ rifles. As are my k9 11.5 and 12.5 SBR’s. The k9 series are great barrels.

Fit and finish is fantastic. Swapped it out with an older 16” barrel with a carbine length gas system. Shoots super smooth. Didn’t test it specifically for groups as I am primarily only shooting 55fmj out of it but was easy to stack em on steel at 100yds. Super smooth shooting and better weight distribution/ balance. Big improvement over the other barrel. Don’t have a lot of rounds through it but I don’t think this barrel will give me any issues down the road. I would highly recommend it if you’re in the market for a 16” barrel.

Id give it 5 star if I got better groups with 55 grain ball. Ran 50 rounds of the 77 grain i prefer. I had 1) 5 shot group of 1.44 1) 5 shot group of 1.46 and 1) 20 shot group of 1.63. I’m extremely happy with those numbers. I ran one group of a different 77 otm with a .71 group. I then switched to 55 grain and the groups opened up going from 2.6 to 4.2 at 100yards. The ammo was federal lake city pmc xtac and ppu. Everything else about this barrel is solid.

Great barrel super smooth shooter. Will not run reliably with the Vltor A5 buffer system and sprinco green spring unsuppressed, suppressed runs great. On a standard carbine lower runs great. On average I get between 1-1.5 MOA groups with a .5 MOA mean radius with most ammo.
