The barrel meets my expectations, build quality is what i expected. Have not installed yet, still waiting on a few things. I am glad i finally looked at your products as a result of watching School of The American Rifle’s video of one of your barrels that had seen full auto service in it’s use. I was looking for this type of barrel. Having seen the other products on your website, i plan purchasing one of your continuous profile barrels.

Received in a timely manner. Well packaged and protected. Everything appeared to be high quality and as expected. Assembled with Aero upper, Phase 5 gas block, Rosco gas tube, Midwest handguard, H M Defense bolt, and Radian charging handle. On a cold windy day I was able to get the LPVO zeroed and found 1 to 1-1/2 MOA of accuracy with multiple rounds of ammo. I have shot 55, 62, 68, 77 grain ammo and will continue till I figure out what the barrel likes best. I am satisfied with Rosco and the SOCOM profile barrel. Will buy from Rosco again and recommend this barrel if it fits your needs.

Purchased Stray Dog when they first became available. Tolerances right on the money, easy assembly. With milspec bolt, buffer, and gas block it shucks rounds about 10 feet to the 4 o’clock position in a little pile. Not a lot of rounds shot through it yet but it seams to be a shooter with many bullet weights. Very pleased. Bought another! Recommend you get one while you can and this become a regular stocking item.

Forgot to add that this Stray Dog needs to be adopted and become a member of the family. Name it Hammer!

This barrel is intended for an upcoming build, so it has not been put through the paces yet.

Was received in a timely manner, and all Rosco barrels are packaged well.

The material from the gas port drilling was still stuck in the port, and the barrel interior was rather filthy. Easy to punch out the material, and a quick job to clean up the bore. For this reason, I can’t quite give the 5 stars.

Stuffed it into a Centurion thermal fit upper, backed up with a Toolcraft BCG. Function was flawless from the first shot, worked well with 55 and 62 gr ammo. Finish is excellent as well. This will be my oldest son’s 21st birthday present and I’m sure it will serve him well.

Good barrel. Fit and finish was good upon delivery. Accuracy with M193 Winchester 55 grain was 1.9″ at 100 yards over the course of 100 rounds. Ran suppressed with that ammo, a 4.9 oz buffer was needed to eject at 4 o’clock. The gas orifice is on the larger size on this one, which is fine for unsuppressed use but if suppressing you’ll need an H2 or H3 buffer or an adjustable gas block or BCG.

    Would buy again.

The first thing I noticed was the attention to detail in the packaging. It wasn’t just wrapped and thrown in a box. The brand was presented so when you took the lid off you could read the barrel specs. Then I notice the gas block dimple which I verified with my borescope is dead on with the gas block installed. I’m sold on your barrels!

This is “not” my first Rosco Mfg. barrel purchase for an AR build. I was looking for a chrome lined barrel and found the Stray Dod SOCOM model on sale, so I purchased it. The Rosco barrels are always packed and shipped in special care boxes which helps protect the contents. Their barrels are dimpled which is a real plus. I never had any type of a problem with a Rosco barrel install. Their quality is exceptional … keep up the good work!

Ordered the stray dog 16” socom profile. Have not finished the build yet but first impressions are as follows:
Parkerizing is excellent. Threading at the muzzle is cleanly cut with no burs or “chattering on the threads themself. Gas port was clean and clear of any shavings or milling debris. Barrel extension and chrome lining are excellent.
The one downside (if it can be considered a downside) is the barrel is a little longer than 16”. When I measured the barrel from the closed bolt face per ATF protocol the barrel measures 16.135” so roughly 1/8” longer. No big deal just something I noticed.

So far so good. Can’t really say much about accuracy. Im using an Aimpoint pro red dot which is a 2 moa optic. I was shooting 2moa. I can only assume this barrel will have no problem hitting sub moa groups. Build quality seems excellent. It’s also chrome lined so it can take a beating. Packaging and shipping were great and fast. Highly recommended for someone who doesn’t want a low quality barrel and also doesn’t want to spend $400+ if you’re not shooting full auto, this barrel will out last you.

I bought four of these so I would have a few extra once they sell out. I love these barrels. These are much better balanced than mid-length government profile barrels. They are rigid enough to withstand heat without point-of-impact shifts. And they are only about 2 ounces heavier than the thinner, tapered-profile barrels I was using before (which tend to impact shift when they get hot). All this and chrome lining at a reasonable price. My only complaint is that the dimple is too small. It’s more like a witness mark than a usable dimple. So, if you want a properly dimpled barrel, you are probably going to want to drill out some material before you install the gas block.

Barrel arrived quickly. Installed easily. Really good looking barrel, nice chrome lining and beautiful phosphate exterior. Really good looking barrel. Used with new Microbest Luxe BCG. No headspaceing issues. Ran a couple mags off back porch just to text. Going to range this week to see how accurate I am with it. Overall great purchase!

This is a updated review after going to the range to zero. Barrel shoots 1.5 MOA with white box 55 grain Winchester 556. I got right at 1.2 MOA with 77 grain blitz kings. First 100 rounds shot with this barrel. Maybe tighten up a little after break in. Either way really happy with purchase. Rosco quality is excellent for the price it can’t be beat. Next barrel is going to be the 14.5 husky. If it’s anything like this Stray Dog I will be extremely happy! Thanks again Rosco for making such GREAT QUALITY!

Barrel received dry and clean in bubble wrap only. Minor thread damage at the muzzle that occurred prior to phosphate. Did not affect muzzle device install. Suggest future shipping with a protective cap although damage was not caused during shipping. Bottom edge of feed ramps had some minor raised imperfections which could be felt in the receiver when hand testing with a round or a straight edge. A small half round needle file and some 800 grit got the ramps smoothed out. Bore scope revealed a smooth chamber and excellent rifling. Gas port was cleanly drilled and chrome lining looked consistent however the .2160” -.0001 bore straightness gauge would meet with some resistance about three inches past the gas port. Gauge would not drop free through the barrel without some minor assistance with a push rod. Suspect some minor inconsistency with the chrome thickness. Barrel did pass chamber extension gauge testing and head spacing. Barrel is out having an FSB installed and has not yet been fired. Consider the issues found minor.
